WHAT'S NEW IN TECHNOLOGY?

DIGITAL technology is changing the scene. Digital cameras create sharper, clearer photos--and digital editing allows a videographer to challenge the limits of his own personal creativity. No longer do they "cut and paste" or add special effects to fill in holes or dead spots. Now they can move and superimpose frames, and eliminate problem areas with the push of a button. Within a few years, all videographers will use digital technology--and if yours does--it's an added plus.

Digital technology also allows videotape to be put on disc--either CD Rom or even DVD (Digital Video Disc). And the advantages of DVD are great! For example, you can put four hours of video on one disc--and the resolution is twice as high as that of regular VHS tape. NOTE: You should also be aware that the shelf life of discs is infinite--while videotape is "ify". Be sure to ask your videographer about putting your video on disc.

HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS: Although transferring a video to DVD will not provide better results than the original tape, making a copy by using digital processing means you won't LOSE quality, which happens to a certain degree with tape-to-tape (analog) transfers. Transferring your tape to DVD will also ensure that it will withstand the test of time, and DVD transfers are getting more affordable everyday. Be sure to ask your videographer about this wonderful new technology.

Make sure your videographer is aware of the new technology. All videographers who are up on their craft, should also be up on the latest trends.
