THE BRIDE'S AND GROOM'S RESPONSIBILITY

You Are the Executive Producers of Your Video!

Make sure that you get all necessary permissions from clergy, etc. well before the wedding date. The videographer is not contracting with the church or temple--YOU are. If clergy or officiant balks against video, it's up to you to explain, tactfully, that this is your wedding, and that your families and your day are very near and dear to your heart. (And don't forget to tell them that your videographer has been hired for the purpose of capturing the moment on film--and that you have made an investment that cannot be ignored.)

Insist upon a pre-wedding conference with your videographer. The style, format and emphasis that you want for your video must be discussed AND PUT IN WRITING. (This must be based on your input and their advice.) The names of family members must also be included. If you have unusual requests, PUT IT IN WRITING. Leave nothing to chance. This protects your interests and makes the videographer's job easier--while keeping mistakes and miscommunication to a minimum. (NOTE: You only have one wedding to attend; the videographer may have many.)
