COMPARING THE COST: PHOTOGRAPHY VS. VIDEOGRAPHY The PHOTOGRAPHER: Shoots the wedding--and most times--sends the film out to be developed. Selects the best photos from the proofs, crops them if necessary, and puts them in order. Shows them to the bride; she chooses the best ones for her album (in effect, becoming his editor). Puts the photos, artistically together, in the album. The VIDEOGRAPHER: Shoots the wedding. Edits the tape, including: --adding baby or honeymoon photos. --adding the right music at the right times. --merging the footage from two cameras into one. --focusing on just the right people. --eliminating dead spots. --adding just the right amount of special effects for interest. --making the video flow. --cutting hours of tape into a fast-paced, interesting, one-and-one-half to two-hour movie.
